If you are interested in history, specifically in war history and Sudetes, a visit to this museum will be the right choice for you. The War Museum Sudety is exceptional not only for its focus and numerous exhibits but also for its location. Visitors have to descend underground.
The beginnings of the museum date back to 2002, when the founder Jiří Maria Sieber and friends started collecting and restoring vintage items. As they wanted to showcase their collection to the public over time, they began looking for suitable premises for a museum. In 2008, a Civil Defense nuclear shelter from 1959 was purchased for this purpose, followed by a period of preparation. The War Museum Sudety was officially opened on September 24, 2008. And why Sudety? Because the Most area used to belong to this region. The museum's collections aim to cover the vast history of war, with many individuals who formed the War Museum Sudety civic association helping to gather the items. One advantage is that the tour includes a commentary, and visitors can closely examine the exhibits, touch them, and discuss topics of common interest—history—with the guide.
Due to the museum's location in the basement of a residential building, it cannot be visited freely. Therefore, an appointment is necessary to visit.
