The lime kiln, located in a forested area between Háj u Loučné pod Klínovcem and Kovářská, is the most significant preserved evidence of the mining and processing of calcareous rocks for lime production in the Czech part of the Ore Mountains. From the original structure, which was built in the mid-19th century by the local estate owner Count Buquoy and served its purpose until the mid-1920s, two octagonal Rumford shaft furnaces and remnants of other buildings have been preserved. In 2019, the lime kiln was completely renovated and is now open to the public. Behind the lime kiln, there is a quarry where dolomitic limestones were extracted.

You can make a reservation for a guided tour and purchase tickets, including payment, online from home. Then you just need to bring the ticket (you can show it on your mobile). If you choose to pay at the ticket office (payment is made directly at the lime kiln), always have the exact amount of cash with you.
We recommend bringing a headlamp/flashlight - it is dark in places inside the lime kiln.
Tours are suitable for adults, children, seniors, school groups, corporate events, and even four-legged friends.
It is possible to purchase tourist souvenirs from the guide on-site - tourist stamps, stickers, magnets, enamel mugs, collector cards, etc.
