Spa Park Bílina - Kyselka Area

The spa area Kyselka is located just a few minutes' walk from the center of Bílina. There is a Neo-Renaissance spa complex surrounded by a heritage-protected forest park with a unique Forest Café. The area also includes a complex of sports facilities, mini-golf, and a swimming pool with a campsite and a restaurant.

Spa Park Bílina - Kyselka Area

Spa Buildings
At the end of the 19th century, the spa was the pride of the town. In 1855, a spa park was established, and spa buildings gradually emerged, consisting of a filling station, inhalatorium, and the main spa building. This beautiful complex is the work of architect Franz Sablick. The main building primarily housed rooms for spa guests, and the spa's dining hall hosted exhibitions on special occasions.

The inhalatorium was mainly used for spa treatments, and its glass atrium, which the town managed to renovate, houses the Bílinská Kyselka spring. This part of the inhalatorium is opened to the public several times a year during town events held at the Kyselka complex, allowing people to taste Bílinská Kyselka directly from the source.

Spa operations ceased in the 1990s. Currently, the mineral water bottling plant is in operation, owned and distributed by the company Bohemia Healing Marienbad Waters a.s. This company began an extensive renovation in 2012, completed two years later. The filling station was repaired according to preserved materials and perfectly mirrors the building's 19th-century state.

Reuss Memorial
The fame and widespread use of mineral resources in Kyselka were due to the geologist and balneologist Franz Ambros Reuss and his son August Emanuel Reuss, who worked as doctors in the Lobkovice spa. They confirmed the healing effects of not only Bílinská Kyselka but also the bitter water springing in nearby Zaječice. A memorial was established for these notable experts from a municipal collection in the 19th century, and it remains the dominant feature of the spa complex. The memorial was renovated in 2017.

Forest Café
One of the romantic spots in the spa park is the stylish Forest Café building. This wooden hunting pavilion, built in the Swiss style at the behest of Prince Moritz Lobkovic for the Jubilee Provincial Exhibition in Prague, was dismantled after the exhibition and transported to the spa park, where it was reassembled in its original form. It's admirable that this architectural gem made of wood survived the turbulent times of both world wars unscathed and has served as a romantic café since 1893 to this day.

Other Leisure Activities in the Kyselka Area
In the beautiful natural scenery of the spa park, there is a swimming pool with a campsite and restaurant. The pool features a 60m waterslide, a diving tower, and a paddling pool, along with courts for beach volleyball, foot volleyball, table tennis, and a restaurant with a terrace. Right next to the pool, a renovated cabin campsite with parking spaces for caravans and tents attracts visitors from near and far. The campsite's amenities and access to the cabins are wheelchair accessible.

Another popular spot is the mini-golf course located on the southern slope of the spa park, hidden among grown trees, providing a pleasant atmosphere for active relaxation. The mini-golf course also features a restaurant with a terrace.

In the summer months, concerts and movie screenings in the summer amphitheater enliven the cultural scene. Right next to it is an animal corner with Cameroon goats and heathland sheep, a favorite destination for park walks.

The Kyselka area also houses a sports complex, including a football stadium with a grass surface and a training football field with an artificial surface. There are also tennis courts, a bowling alley, and an athletics stadium with a tartan surface. The area is intertwined with running trails and even offers a natural gym.
