Regional Museum and Gallery Most

The museum is currently housed in the building of the former German Real Gymnasium. The architecturally significant structure was completed in 1913 and served the gymnasium until 1945, when a secondary technical school was placed here. This school used the building until 1981. It was only in 1982 that the former school became part of the museum - it was ceremoniously opened to the public after extensive reconstruction was completed in 1996. The museum's focus is primarily regional - the main collection and research area is the territory of the former Most district, with overlaps into surrounding districts.

Regional Museum and Gallery Most

From a geomorphological perspective, the museum focuses on three significant landscape units - Krušné Hory, the western part of Český Středohoří, and the Most Basin, whose nature and history are currently covered by three natural science and three social science permanent exhibitions.

Under the museum's administration from 1964-2005 was also the chateau in Litvínov and from 2000-2013 the Monument to the Victims of World War II in Most in the building of the former crematorium at the Municipal Cemetery in Most.
