The observation tower is closed. The tourist lodge with a wood-clad lookout tower has been offering its hospitality since 1933. During World War II, the lodge served as a children's home, and after the war until 1961 as a military observation post. From the glazed gallery of the eighteen-meter observation tower, due to the surrounding trees, you can basically only see to the north towards the forested German part of the Ore Mountains and the valley towards the border town of Bublava.
