Snacks at Červená jáma is located in a beautiful spot in the Ore Mountains, on the forefront of Hřebečná near the gigantic mining sinkhole Červená jáma. A fairy-tale looking cottage, built from wood and clay, is situated in the place of a former inn, through which main tourist routes led in the past.
In the place where the Schnepp's inn once stood, a romantic wooden structure has arisen, which could be called a "bio cottage." It was not built by any company, but by a few enthusiastic people in their spare time. Cyclists, skiers, and tourists can use both the outdoor seating and the cozy room with a stove, insulated from the outdoor elements by natural insulation in the form of wood and local soil.
The idea to create a refreshment spot for passersby was born in the minds of Blanka Mozdíková and Petr Kohout. Petr Kohout was inspired by the felling of trees on the footprint of the disappeared inn to create a structure from local materials. Soil from the local meadow was used as the filling between the logs. Today, grass is growing on the roof.
Daily offerings for visitors include homemade soups, cakes, grilled sausages, cold and hot beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Enjoyable seating in an incredibly peaceful part of nature is available from around 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, depending on the weather. Even through dense fog, you can comfortably reach here via the field and forest path. It is less than three kilometers from the village of Abertamy.
