Enjoy the romance of the railway station at an altitude of 850 meters on the ridge of the Krušné mountains. By doing so, you will contribute to the reconstruction of the historic station Kovářská. You will be surrounded by forest and greenery. Passenger trains run here only on weekends during the summer season. Once the tracks are covered with snow, you can simply put on cross-country skis and head along the tracks towards Měděnec or Vejprty.
The insulated carriage is used for comfortable living even in the harshest winter. Architect Štěpán Řehoř designed the space as a simple studio. The stay is made more pleasant by a built-in small bathroom with a hot shower and a flushing toilet. It also includes a fully equipped kitchen. In the summer, you can open the large panoramic windows, and in the winter, you can enjoy the view of the snowy station through them while sitting by the flickering stove. Each of our carriages is unique in some way: in location, view, and design.
We managed to purchase Kovářská station from the Railway Administration at the last moment when the beautiful 19th-century stone building was threatened with demolition. It was in 2014, and we dived into the rescue headfirst. Many people thought we were crazy. But we were so enchanted by the genius loci of the forgotten mountain station that we couldn't help ourselves. We cleared hundreds of tons of debris and garbage from the main station building, built a new roof, new ceilings, and installed new windows. The project is time-consuming and expensive. That's why we decided to buy decommissioned carriages and convert them for living, so we no longer had to sleep in cars and tents during the station's reconstruction. Since we spend a large part of the year working abroad, we offer our carriages for rent. The income will then finance further reconstruction work on the station.
We have parked them on the unused 4th track of the Kovářská station in the Ore Mountains. From Kovářská, it is about a 10-minute drive to the ski slopes on Klínovec, and about 15 minutes to Boží Dar. You can park your car directly by the carriages. Buses from Klášterec nad Ohří travel to Kovářská. From the stop in the village (Kovářská, rozcestí Elektropřístroj), it is about 1 km to our station. A train from Chomutov will take you directly to the carriage only on weekends from the beginning of May to the end of September.
