Back then, every village, every town had a hill, and ski jumping enjoyed great popularity. Ruda was introduced to this sport by Mr. Koubek, a teacher and also a great athlete, who inspired many children in the area with his enthusiasm.Victories in many competitions, including the World Cup, did not take long. He placed in the top ten eight out of eleven times in his favorite Tournament and also boasts the title of King of the White Track. He decided to pass on his experience as a coach of the Czechoslovak and later the Swiss ski jumping teams.
