Summer Cinema at Řetízkárna: The Painted Bird

An improvised summer cinema in Řetízkárna will screen the award-winning film The Painted Bird by director Václav Marhoul.

The director himself will also attend, and a discussion will take place with him focusing on the making of the film, its message, and questions of historical memory and experiences with totalitarian regimes. The screening is being held on the occasion of the European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Stalinism and Nazism (23rd August) as a tribute and commemoration of those who became victims of injustice and oppression.

As this is an improvised summer cinema, we recommend bringing your own chair.
