The Regional Museum and Gallery in Most invites the public to a screening of the feature-length documentary film The Kingdom of Soap Bubbles (Czech Television, 2025, 82 min) directed by Taťána Marková. The evening will include commentary by historian of modern history Mgr. Dominik Marek, followed by a short discussion after the screening.
The documentary presents a gripping story of the brand Soap with a Deer and its founders - the Schicht entrepreneurial family. Their name resonated in interwar Czechoslovakia as strongly as industrial icons like Škoda, Baťa, or Kolben and Daněk.
The film follows the rocket-like rise of the Schicht family from humble beginnings in the basement of a village house to the establishment of a factory in Ústí nad Labem and the co-founding of the multinational giant Unilever, whose products are still a common part of our households today.
