Day of Traditional Ore Mountain Crafts

Where to go for the weekend? We have a tip for a Sunday trip to the German side of the Ore Mountains, where the Day of Traditional Ore Mountain Crafts will take place on Sunday, October 20th.

The tradition of this event was established a quarter of a century ago, and during this year's 25th anniversary, 125 craft workshops throughout the Saxon Ore Mountains will open their doors, from Eibenstock in the west to Dippoldiswalde in the east. You can look forward to blacksmiths, carpenters, glassmakers, carvers, bakers, potters, lace makers, and a number of other well-known and unusual crafts.

Visitors will enjoy unique guided tours, demonstrations of living traditions, craft product markets, and an accompanying program where local specialties can be tasted. Our neighbors have not forgotten the youngest visitors either - many of the craftsmen are preparing special children's programs, including workshops where children can create something themselves and take it home.

The main program takes place on Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM, but due to the growing interest from visitors, many workshops will be open throughout the weekend.

Further details can be found in the program below or on the website :)
